Paisteboard Tiger

Daddy lost his Mummy
In the Second World War,
He never told the story
And like this he went apart.

Looking for some comfort
In the colour TV screen,
Looking out for laughter,
That’s all that he’s been doing.

When we were kids
We had a paisteboard tiger
Leant against the wall,
Watching our nights,
Waited for the next day,
Took him with us to the forest again…

Brother’s hair was blond hair
That curlies made of sun,
Our laughter drifted down the road,
Those were the days of fun.

In winter we went out to play
And he returned alone,
I was found some blocks away,
I wanted to go home.

Brother’s hair was blonde
That Girlies made of sun,
All laughter […] down the road,
Those were the days of fun.

In winter we went out to play
And he returned alone,
I was found some walks away,
I wanted to go home.

When we were kids
We had a paisteboard tiger
Leant against the wall,
Watching our nights,
Waited for the next day,
Took him with us to the forest again…

Mother told me not to cry
When our Daddy said Goodbye,
Maybe she thought she’d be flushed away,
But still I wonder why she did this.

Never never never never never never never
Was all she was able to say,
I guess her mother let her alone
When her Daddy died the same.

When we were kids
We had a paisteboard tiger
Leant against the wall,
Watching our nights,
Waited for the next day,
Took him with us to the forest again…

When we were kids
We had a paisteboard tiger
Leant against the wall,
Watching our nights,
Waited for the next day,
Took him with us to the forest again…
